r292: adjusting Star Brightness slider changes viewpoint orientation #15

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. select Gears icon
2. move Star Brightness slider

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

The starry background moves.
It should not.

This is especially noticeable if there's a planetary object in the foreground:
it rotates.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

r292
Win7 Pro SP1 X64

Not surprisingly, the same thing happens if the Extra Light slider is adjusted.

It appears to be a generic problem with mouse selection not being limited to
the on-screen menu: another symptom is that clicking options (e.g. selecting
Other Shadows) causes whatever object is behind it (e.g. Cassini) to be
selected. One can see expanding circles drawn at the Object's center.

This also happens when selecting any of the menu icons (gear, (?) or magnifying
glass). e.g. if Cassini was selected, it is deselected and its name at the top
left of the window disappears.

Sorry: the previously selected object is not actually deselected -- mouse
orientation movements are still relative to it. However, its name does
disappear from the Info text display.

This is now partially fixed: moving the slider widgets and scrollbars no longer
rotates the view. But, some widgets are still behaving as if they're
transparent to mouse clicks.

Fixed. Dragging slider no longer affects the view.
