Same issue here too.
If there is no wi-fi network nearby connectible. It is no way to enable data
connection back to functional. Unfortunately, rebooting the phone is not
working either.

i've found that if there's no wifi spot available, setting the phone into
airplane mode and back can help.

Same issue here on my Nexus S.
I had hoped that APNdroid 2.5 or 3.0 would have fixed this issue 'cause they
use the Android API instead, but both APNdroid versions crash when trying to
run them :-(...

The same problem still exists after the update to 2.3.2.
I am not even able to use the workaround with wifi and in my opinion the
priority of this issue should increase from Medium to HIGH I never had any 3G
issues with my Nexus One I don't think is acceptable that Nexus S doesn't work
with 3G

I have this issue on a Nexus S on 2.3.2 as well.

I've star'd this issue as well. You're not alone. The workaround isn't really a
workaround. The phone is having multiple data problems in this regard and needs
fixing.

note to the dev: you've created a paid for version - if you can fix this issue
on nexus S i'll be happy to buy (and I suspect I'm not the only one)

I can confirm that APNdroid 3.0 (direct download from code.google.com) is not
working with latest android 2.3 on Nexus S. I can neither disable nor re-enable
data connection.

Same here. I attempted to turn on and off the "Enable Data" option several
times to no avail. Fortunately, it would work again after rebooting the phone.
I already uninstalled the widget to enable/disable data. But I still
intermittently encounter this issue.

I have a similar issue with apndroid on htc vision with cyanogenmod 7. the
newest version on market does switch data off but it will not successfully
enable it. It show enabled in apndroid but no mobile data connection icon
appears.

Also i've tried the newer 2.5 and 3.0 versions. They Force close for me if
mobile data is enabled when they start. With mobile data disabled they do
start. I wish this is fixed quickly since apndroid is quite crucial for my
daily use.

I've found that going to settings>Wireless and Networks>APN and selecting the
APN enables the data to come back on. This is a workaround I've found to
restarting my phone everytime to re-anable 3G. I'm planning to switch apps to a
more functional app which does the same job.

The same happens to me!
It's not enought checking "Disable APN" but it's needed to press the button
"3G/EDGE/GPRS" for changihng the name of the APN (causing some confusion to
Android, because when I try to reach APN under Settings often Android crashes).
When I try to reactivate the data connection I should re-enable then disable
and re-enable the "3G/EDGE/GPRS" until it finally works.
So the app is wonderful for preventing the data connection for working, but it
has some bugs while re-enabling it.
