Keep getting signed off periodically on `dev` #7489

Bug Description There seems to still be a small auth bug where, after some amount of time (a few days typically) of not using the browser, I will be signed off. I think this happens in all environments, and perhaps more likely to happen after an autoupdate (although I am not sure of that).
