Aftermarket Wii U Pro Controller support #40

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Click begin discovery
2. Press sync button
3. Nothing connects. "End Discovery; Discovery for new Wiimote finished :)"

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

PowerA Mini Pro Elite for Wii U.
Macbook Pro - Mavericks

Please provide any additional information below.

Would love to see support for 3rd party controllers as well as official
Nintendo controllers.

Hello.

I think, WJoy support all of WIi U Pro Controllers (original or not). Please,
try to connect you controller to Mac with standard bluetooth preferences pane
(in System Preferences), and, after connection, open Terminal.app and run
command:

ioreg -l

and post here output.

May be this controller use non-standart device name, or something else.

PS: sometimes Wii controllers connect only after two-three sync button presses.
Or after 2-3 discovery sessions. Or may be One-Button-Connection mode can
help... Or some behaviour of PowerA Mini Pro Elite is not standart, and Wii U
can work with it, but WJoy can't. Let's try to understand :)

Same error here.

I'm using version 0.7.1 and Max OS 10.6.8.

Log with this post.

Thanks in advance!

Sorry, but in this file i can't see anything about Wii U Pro Controller. Can
you download and text joystick with this utility:
http://yadi.sk/d/sgrAqCmFJFCnh ? (With one-button-click option and without it.)
May be it helps to me.

I have the same controller. Mini Pro Elite Wireless Controller for Wii U.
The issue is that OSX doesn't even see the controller. I ran a hciscan from a
linux host and put the controller into Sync, but it doesn't detect any
bluetooth traffic. I've tried this with 2 controllers. I brought the first
one back and exchanged it for another because I thought the first was defective.

I have the same issue, discovery finishes without detecting every time.
Initially I suspected this was indicative of some sort of proprietary RF signal
similar to Xbox 360 controllers, but considering it's use with the Wii U is
almost certainly Bluetooth it's a head scratcher. It would appear anecdotally
at least a commenter on YouTube got it working using some sort of custom or
modified driver: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jnbaykLGwXc
