Disaggregate significant dimensions of extension codes) from additional detail? #10

Richard Madden comment: The extension codes section (of ICHI Content Model in the Content Model Proposal document) is just a list of extension codes. Some of these are legitimate dimensions for the Content Model, and have been shown that way in the ICHI Content Model developed over many years. Therapeutic products, Assistive products, Medicaments are examples. Medicaments and Additional Anatomy are deliberately mirroring the ICD.

But some extension codes are minor additional detail, and of much less importance.

It would be good to disaggregate significant dimensions from additional detail. Possibly the same argument applies to ICD.

What do people think of the idea of introducing a flag to mark “significant/first class” extension properties (presumably in a linearization). The current content model distinguishes between required and optional extension codes.

Another possibility is to have two linearizations, one with “significant” extension codes only and one with all relevant extension codes.
