Security issue? #155

Mac OS X 10.6.8

I'm concerned about a potential security problem. I'm here because I couldn't 
find any contact information for Blacktree, the developers of an app called 
iPhone Remote. I installed this app on my computer, chose a username and 
password, and a Safari window popped up titled *****'s Mac Pro (my computer 
name). The window had a default Mac desktop image on it, but no information. 
The app had no options except to quit.

My question is: did I just open a gaping security hole on my computer, and if 
so, how do I go about closing it.

I appreciate anyone who can help!
