Paris neighbourhood name: Les Halles vs Des Halles? #37

Hi! I'm going through various recent WOF updates and adjusting Pelias acceptance tests to mwtch. I came across the Parisian neighbourhood Les Halles which has Des Halles as the preferred name in English and French since https://github.com/whosonfirst-data/whosonfirst-data/issues/410. I can't find anything referring to Des Halles as the name of the neighbourhood itself, but there is apparently a shopping mall called Westfield Forum des Halles as mentioned on Wikipedia.

So is it right for the preferred name to be Des Halles? Perhaps @joxit can spare a moment of his time to confirm or deny my suspicion that it's truly Les Halles :)

Hi there,

The neighbourhood is named Quartier Des Halles or Halles. Des Halles alone is meaningless (maybe a post processing which removed Quartier ?). In Paris OpenData platform, they use Halles but we see and use more Les Halles than just Halles.

IMO {lang}_x_preferred_longname should be Quartier Des Halles, {lang}_x_preferred should be Les Halles and Halles should be in {lang}_x_variant with Halles de Paris.

In Les Halles neighbourhood, we have the shopping mall Forum des Halles :shopping: (or Westfield Forum des Halles since 2019), the subway Les Halles :metro: and the train station Châtelet les Halles :train: (both of them under the Forum des Halles) :sweat_smile:.

Ack - I'm just seeing this issue now. @orangejulius would you want to take a shot at updating these place names using the Write Field tool?
