Google Chrome weird behaviour, jumplist resets to default? #65

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Extend Google Chrome's jumplist
2. Save
3. Lauch Google Chrome

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Chrome starts, no additional icons on superbar: that's what one would expect.
Instead, the icon with extended jumplist gets unpinned and the standard Chrome
one is pinned in its place.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

0.2c, the latest build. Running on Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit.

Please provide any additional information below.

I believe this happens because there is a "Recent Items" section in Chrome's
default Jumplist. As a result, the Jumplist is constantly updated. The current
implementation of Jumplist Extender is unable to deal with constantly updating
Jumplists but the author has stated that he wishes to add this feature in the
future.

You're exactly right: Right now, Chrome is free to write its own jump list on
top of JLE's, so there's no protection that exists to keep the custom one. If I
knew where the jump list data was stored, I could fix that.
