Thank you for the recommendation -- could you be a bit more specific? Which repositories? I've not worked with anything like that before. Do you mean things like Chocolatey?

RokeJulianLockhart commented 1 year ago

Ah, you use mac, don't you? No wonder. No worries - I do mean something like that, but the more official repositories, like the Apple App Store is to the mac.

For Windows, https://github.com/microsoft/winget-pkgs For Linux generally, https://docs.flathub.org/docs/for-app-authors/submission/#how-to-submit-an-app For a specific Linux-based OS, something like https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:How_to_contribute_to_Factory

edit: I accidentally thought this Issue was about my Video Hub App project instead 😅 - below text isn't what I should have written

Thank you for the links. I could set it up to distribute the DEMO of the app, but I don't think many people would find the app through these distribution channels -- and I would have the hassle of updating even more stuff when the release happens (takes me like a day to release a new version now-a-days 😓).

I think I'll skip this task for now (for another year or two; and then think about it again) 🤝

@whyboris, probably best to close as not planned then.

@RokeJulianLockhart - oh my, I was thinking this was an Issue on my Video Hub App project 😅

Since Simple File Renamer is free - it makes more sense to put it out on as many package repositories / distributions as available 🚀

I'll look into it sometime -- though anyone is welcome to put up the official executables from GitHub Release to whatever distribution channel they know 🤝
