This "modernize" branch is a side-project that I started and has since got a bit dusty. It wasn't intended for contribution. It's doing a lot more than I think you need. What specifically do you need? Please create or refer to an issue.

Thanks for the explanation. I used this branch as it works well with es6 import in my project. Here is my issue: https://github.com/wickedest/Mergely/issues/172

Regarding the functionality I need, this is text comparison in normal mode.
