Add redirects from the old site to a chapter page - /forums and /event/.... #43

E.g. Forums now sit in the global chapter, so I would want to add a redirect from womeninidentity.org/community/ to global.womeninidentity.org/groups

Thanks

@fhobswid so once the DNS changes are in place to use your custom domain the APEX will be womeninidentity.org and the global chapter will use the subdomain global.womeninidentity.org so the URL for forums in the global chapter will be global.womeninidentity.org/groups. I am pretty sure that you can only setup an alias for redirecting traffic to URL's within one domain - not sure therefore that you can setup a redirect alias in the APEX to redirect traffic from the old URL community link to the chapter subdomain - but I will ask. We might have to create a cpage on the APEX as a simple landing page for forums with a link to the global chapter/groups page. We can then alias /community to the new cpage/group landing page.

@fhobswid I have checked and we can't do a redirect to the global subdomain from the APEX using as alias. I recommend that we implement my earlier suggestion above - create a new custom forums landing page on the APEX. Alias this to your old community URL and in the new page include a simple message that this is the new forums and add a link in a button to take the user to the global forums landing page. It may also be possible to add some kind of redirect in the DNS settings that would give you what you are looking for but we can't qualify this further.

Ok thanks Michael - let's wait to see if we can add this redirect in the DNS settings. I will assign this to Pam as she has access to that, but Pam this can be done after launch.
