Thank you so much for your feedback! I listened to your wishes and in the new release, I added MQTT discovery for Home Assistant.
Great news, can’t wait to try the updates. I’ve used BH1750 Ambient Light Sensor before, it uses i2c and pretty straight forward to read lux. Just need wire library and bh1750 library.
Try new release (v2.5), I implemented support ds18b20 temperature sensor. Wiring: https://github.com/widapro/wledPixel#wiring
This latest version with mqtt client and web config is really really amazing. Game changer. Playing with it in HA shows it's already the only led matrix platform worth using as a generic notifier. A couple of ideas spring to mind.
- would it be possible to fix the mqtt client? - some of the commands seem broken in v2.2.1would it be possible to send mqtt auto discovery (in the same way that tasmota does it with so19 1? then would be discovered straight into ha as a device. as a sensor it would merely need to send availability, web url and perhaps ip address.
is there room to code / support an onboard lux sensor to allow auto adjusting illumination? perhaps just mqtt publishing sensor values. Also support for a device-based temp sensor (eg ds18b20) would be useful.
could brightness & text on display (as a minimum) be published out as a live status? to mimic display in lovelace. (would also be nice to publish out working mode, font, charspacing, IN/OUT EFFECT, scrollspeed, scroll pause and alignment)
