item-description not showing in top-level published folder list

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Add '"item-description": {},' to list-view-columns in index.html 
2. Add item descriptions using the "Add Description" link in the pop-up for a 
published folder
3. Refresh. See item descriptions for sub folders/items within published 
folders, but not for top-level published folders.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Item Descriptions for Published Folders should be visible in the list if 
list-view-columns has item-description set.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.8.8.2 on Snow Leopard server.
