Connection drops - wget sessions stuck

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. APs cannot reach www.robin-dash.net|119.47.112.192|:443 for various reasons. 
Wget timeout does not work.
2. system gets flodded with wget
21704     1 root     R     1752  13%  12% wget -t 1 -T 40 --no-cache --no-check
22313     1 root     R     1752  13%  12% wget -t 1 -T 40 --no-cache --no-check
22894     1 root     R     1752  13%  12% wget -t 1 -T 40 --no-cache --no-check
26107     1 root     R     1752  13%  12% wget -t 1 -T 40 --no-cache --no-check
26785     1 root     R     1752  13%  12% wget -t 1 -T 40 --no-cache --no-check
21123     1 root     R     1752  13%   9% wget -t 1 -T 40 --no-cache --no-check
3. AP hangs
4. Bring in up again by "killall wget" then run update.
5. Last for a few hours / days.
6. GOTO 1.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
beta-1.6.r3842 - Openwrt, 8.09

Please provide any additional information below, such as the network name,
BIERNAT
and the Server URL (If not using the Hosted Version)
