Google has strict rules about background permissions for apps that scan - this is to prevent surreptitious monitoring of users by malicious apps. (inconvenient, but we totally get why they do it!)
ah yes I didn't consider the protentional abuse for tracking user behaviour. Thanks for the response anyway.

Is it possible to make the app start in the background when running at boot, I currently have a few android units in my cars and I think it could be useful if the app could be configured to run at boot and immediately go into the background so it doesn't interfere with regular functions like the radio.
Its a bit annoying pressing the home button every time the head unit boots up to but the app in the background so I think a feature like this could be useful
