Reported again today by Blaze Wolf at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Articles_for_creation#Non-english_decline_sometimes_won't_input_the_language. Will raise priority.
Unable to reproduce on testwiki.

de
? German
? german
? I did my test with german
, all lowercase.Whatever was affecting things seems to have cleared up - the issue somehow related to "German" being the example/default text not passing through, but I just used that for both primary and secondary decline reasons and everything looks to be working as intended.
Maybe we got lucky and a patch somewhere along the way fixed the glitch?
Or maybe it uses a template/module and that template/module got fixed onwiki.
Good to hear this is all solved :)
If I decline a draft for being in Polish for example, the decline message directs the author to the Polish Wikipedia. If I enter the language as German, overwriting the example language of German, the get a generic message with no link to German wikipedia.
