Regarding your question Alex (for raw/.ai files), I don't have these (program I used to create the draft doesn't support that). Are any other file formats good (as in jpeg?). Other options:

If any of these file extensions are not useful, I could redraw the logo with Inkscape, and create a vector format for it.

Thanks. I guess the only part that a graphics designer would need would be the mountain peak image. The rest is our existing (to be updated) logo and text. Can you point to or upload that image separately?

Confirmed: Giovanni is working on an updated logo for WP and will then incorporate into an updated version of this summit logo.

https://www.codester.com/items/2358/monument-mountain-logo-template I loosely based the mountain part on the image above. Redrew the outer lines by hand (with a dark gray which was part of the original (but now almost old) WP logo, and the inside coloured with a light gray from the WP logo. So if the colours of the WP-logo change, would be nice to incorporate them in the mountain part. I'm interested to see what Giovanni makes of the new logo ;)

@AlexanderPico they look awesome!!! 1) I really like the new WikiPathways logo - simple and stylish. The only comment is the somewhat empty bottom right of the circle. But I am also not sure what to put there. Maybe we could have one version where the bottom arrow points towards "WikiPathways" (maybe without the rest of the text). While I like the black and white simple version, it might be cool to also have a colored version :) 2) Summit logo - I love the colors! Any chance we could add the date and location somewhere?

I like that you search for a new image here for the WikiPathways logo, but I honestly think the current logo looks better, more classy, less simplistic. Not such a big fan of the new one, personally. This new logo seems 'flat' to me, a bit like an electric circuit, computer chip. Did this company provide multiple options, or is this the only one? The Summit logo I like a lot. And as Martina mentioned, I miss the date and location. Also, I would put the subtitle on one line, followed by those extra pieces of info.

Hi Alex (and graphical team in SF)... Good work on the logo! Really shows that people with graphical skills can make something way better then me with paint.net ;) Some thoughts on it:

• For the general/round logo: would it be possible to integrate the name of WikiPathway in the circle? (like it is done for the summit logo).... That way, if we would like to use a circular layout in the future, the name WikiPathways is already in there. And the "caption" could then still read: Pathways for the People (I would personally like to see this line with capitalization, and to balance it make the P of People also caps.) This also refers to @mkutmon 's comments on the "empty" space on the right bottom. And perhaps one coloured version (for sticker and other purposes) with similar colours to the WPs summit logo would be nice (but these colours really stand out from the dark background, so perhaps the colours don't really work on a white background).

• For the WPs SUMMIT logo, I like to colors, different shapes etc. But I think the ratio text:visualisation is not good for the text part (which is what we want from the logo right? To give info on the summit, while being visually attractive)... Furthermore, there are some unconnected lines on the left side (which I don't like to see in a PW, so also prefer not to have it on the logo), and node shapes we don't really use (but that could be artist impression of course). Leaving out any biology in the logo makes it very general, and I don't know if people understand the meaning of the blocks and arrows then.... Would it be possible to fill up some of the nodes with abbreviations of well known metabolites/genes/proteins (and then connect them in the figure in a biologically meaningful sense?)... that way, we also stay a bit closer to the original WPs logo (and this also relates to @marvinm2 's comment that the logo looks like a electirc circuit)...

Furthermore, I agree with parts of the comments above: more info on the summit in the middle (location, date) and subtitle "10 years of open science" in one line (or make it "Celebrating 10 years of Open Science"
