One use case that came up to day is the nanopublications (https://github.com/wikipathways/nanopublications/issues/1) where we like to have as part of the provenance who actually created the pathway (following the WikiPathways citation guidelines). But the current workflow is via the RDF which uses the webservice for this kind of information (https://github.com/wikipathways/GPML2RDF/issues/33).
