As a side note, the message that's supposed to tell the user that it has been triggered and a restart is necessary doesn't appear, the PIN/password box just disappears without explanation

aware, its why i don't recommend microsoft accounts for now

i'd switch my account to a local account if it'd let me keep the same damn username
