I am excited to get @Yun-Wu up to speed on workflow development here!

I think I should probably close out #5 first, so we have a way to verify end-to-end compiled artifacts.

Then I will work on this issue, documenting (minimally, to start) the process for:

Adding and registering new (built-in) tasks
Defining a new compilation spec
Compiling and testing the new spec
