Buying steel new - what are the considerations when we choose between suppliers?

Do they have a sustainability policy on their website? Are they local?

For this project, we've gone with a local supplier, AD Hall in Stoke (https://www.adhall.co.uk/)

BUT they don't have a public sustainability policy.

Also, the steel we're using is 30% thicker than our regular supplier (https://www.themetalstore.co.uk) who is further away. So we're more local, but using 30% more of the new material...
