Merged fixes from pixel-saver extension back (https://github.com/deadalnix/pixel-saver/pull/11/commits)

Copied the lines into my extension and it seems to work. The black bar was also present on my second display, now it's gone there too.

Seems to work for me on GNOME 3.16 and Fedora 22.
