This PR aims to update the CI framework as mentioned here: https://github.com/wilkelab/ggtext/pull/112#issuecomment-1863226542.
The commit messages indicate which functions were used. The readme initially didn't want to build because the url of the image seems to give an error (try for yourself: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/2/27/20140427Iris_versicolor1.jpg/320px-20140427Iris_versicolor1.jpg) I've replaced that url with another of (I think) the same photo:
