A Receiver API for Windows, or even simply being able to apply to partner with
Google and get the necessary private key/certificate, would open up third party
applications to provide this sort of functionality. It would be great to have
GoogleCast become a real broadly usable standard for mirroring functioning, as
an open alternative to Airplay.

If youre serious about CC you would buy one. Also their not going to implement
something that would hinder sales. The market is big enough to sacrifice the
one or two who "cant even buy it"

@7 True, but the same holds for Android emulator. However, if the emulator was
good enough, developers could use it instead of buying real devices, even if
they can.
It's also a lot more convenient to have a window for the emulator on the
screen, than to have to use it with a TV.
