I think these sort of things can get blown out of proportion. You could create
a module that would do this as a news item for a similar effect. Also you
could use the Game Summary for stuff like this which posts it in the news
column. I just think you could probably think of 10 other stat boxes similar
to this.

It's just a suggestion. I've seen this feature in another Blood Bowl League
Manager that is used by a lot of leagues in Spain, feel free to take a look:

They also announce the new hirings.
Probably you are right and it is bloatware, but is cool nonetheless :) As I
said, it's just a suggestion.

I agree it's cool to have the option, but it's a fine balance.
I don't really know what to say here..
I guess it could be implemented like the team infocus module - extending
beneath a node's standings box on the front page.

Not just implemented like InFocus but could easily be part of it and rotate
through stuff like this.
You called InFocus a module, but it is core now, not that I agree that it
should be core.

Yes sorry, it is. But the stuff that can be rotated could be part of a queue og
modules...

I've coincidentally had 3-4 mails drop into my inbox the past weeks with this
same wish.
Since it's fairly a small change I'll try to add this as the last thing before
the 0.9 release.

Adding these event box types:
dead
hired
sold
skill pick
Hall of fame
prizes
wanted
r873 adds the first three

r874 finishes this
Decided not to add wanted, hof and prizes. These are awarded/given too rarely.
It makes no sense having boxes on the main page which are practically static.
Coaches can write on the main message board instead and link to the respective
(module) page.
