Mobile Data usage #9

Hello guys,

This seems to be amazing, I want to try this, but I have a quick question, will this reduce mobile data consuption?

For example, in the end of the process, if I try to connect to my PS4 Pro via Android mobile data connection, will it spend huge ammount of GB's of mobile data as it usually does, or will it be using almost none as it's connected "locally"?

I am sorry if I understand all wrong or if this question is kind stupid or does not even make sense, but I am not an expert on this matter ahah

Thank you in advance.

Hi brunomoura97, No judgment here, we've been there as well. The VPN allows to make believe the PSRemote app on your phone that you are on the same local network than your PS4.

This allows to use local feature that are blocked on remote mode like increasing quality and framerate of the streaming. Depending, on your Internet provider the connection can be more stable, have less latency and have a better download and upload speed to the PS4 than without the VPN. However the amount of data downloaded by your phone will remain the same (or higher if you increase image quality and framerate). Therefore if you are concerned by data consumption I would simply lower the quality in the parameters of the PSRemote app on your phone in the parameters. In your case, the possibility of activating better quality settings are not your concern since you want to limit mobile data consumption. Nervertheless the VPN can help with stability and latency. I hope it answers your question
