I don't think it's 50Hz. It's more of a buzz than a hum.
It sounds louder when the speakers are close to the receiver, because the fan noise on the receiver itself is quite noticeable.
However, the buzzing is definitely there. It does not vary as the volume level changes. You can't hear it when music is playing and the volume is loud.
I need to check if it is there on all speakers, or only on the front pair. It's equally loud on each speaker in that pair.
I could attach an oscilloscope probe to the output to see if I can identify the frequency. It occurs regardless of the input source.
I also need to figure out how to set the receiver so it plays stereo into only two speakers.
As soon as the power pack is energised by the relay switching, a buzzing sound is heard.
