Participant Recruitment: We should likely expand beyond the initial WBL individuals that we pre-surveyed. Sophie mentioned that Marketing 101 students tend to be more active after Spring Break. Do we have any restrictions on our end for who we want to recruit? [Rachel/Emily's response is no; for pilots, we should be able to cast our net wide.]
Scheduling: It will be scheduled similar to an in-person study (e.g., with slots that people commit to), but can be taken from anywhere (remotely)
# of Participants: No upper limit, as many as we can get? WBL has been actively rebuilding its participant pool since COVID. In general, there is more interest with remote than in-person studies; generally, to hit 200-300 people, we will need to run a few times. Recently ran a 2-minute, $1 remote study that got 500 people. Numbers for this study will likely be closer to in-person numbers. [Edit: James suggests ~20 (target 18) for the initial batch and ~40 for subsequent batches, so that mistakes are not costly.]
James and Tech Support: We should provide contact information for James (or another individual familiar with the tech side of the platform, perhaps on James' team) during the pilots so that individuals can contact with questions or tech issues
Everyone in our group had a Mac and did not experience any technical issues / glitches.
Give a preview of "switch" ding in the study intro (e.g., "when it's time to transition between discussion questions, you will here the following sound...")
Remove line on intro screen that says "earn base HIT reward" -- this won't make sense for WBL group
It looks like participants can still skip the topic-specific post-survey questions -- need to make these required
Chris noted he was also able to skip the pre-survey questions -- need to make these required as well
Notes:
WBL will send us a new study details form to complete
WBL will schedule sessions, probably starting the week of March 20.
