Add absolute start/end dates for BackgroundLayout in Scheduling #144

The background items are currently bounded by the dateranges that you
supply to the viewer.

However, my code may introduce a new bug, where the backgrounds disappear
completely, on the Mac OS. :(

Todo:
- Roll in new code
- Fix potential new bugs
