Can't install 124 on Windows 7 SP1 #685

Already even can't install 122 again. But repeated installation worked earlier. PC restart doesn't help. I tried Supermium 122 folder, empty folder and new folder. No difference. Also tried with "Install without modifying the registry". Also tried after removing Supermium from "Programs and Features". Nothing helps. No installed files at all.

I know I can unzip but I want to try "Enable classic v60 interface mode in shortcut".

does your win7 system fully updated???

oleedd commented 6 days ago

SP1, as said in the tittle. And it worked earlier, as said above, so system upgrade has nothing to do with it.

The 64-bit version of Supermium 124 installed perfectly fine on my Windows 7 (2018 Update ISO) Ultimate VM and so did 122 before that.

You're probably missing some updates.

You're probably missing some updates.

It worked 2 weeks ago, so no. It is about not first installations. And it has to work on Windows 2003 - so talking about updates for newer systems is inappropriate.

if you click OK in the topmost window, and then OK again in the window in the background,... Does it work then and install? This little trick helped me in the past, but I am not sure, whether your issue is the same I ran into back then.

oleedd commented 3 days ago

No, the same errors again.

@win32ss It started to work after I chose the directory where it was installed initially. Now it installs to any folder. Weird bug. Also, it deletes all data in the folder. Too dangerous. I nearly deleted all data during testing. Typing a browser folder name may be omitted by mistake because there is no "choose folder" what I did accidentally. I am glad that it was a folder with a series, not a folder with multiple GB of important data what could be. Other programs don't delete anything in such cases.
