Give me a valid idea to run XP RTM and use a browser in it in 2024 other than "Boredom and lack of job". It is the least secure version of Windows XP and you're trying to connect to the internet with it. If a machine can't run SP3, then it can't run this browser anyway, because it's too old to get a decent performance. Please close it and leave it for serious users.

He doesn't need to justify his operating system choice to you, or really anyone else but himself. Please keep in mind that Supermium at some point is expected to support Windows 2000. So, having full proper functionality under Windows XP RTM would greatly enhance the chances of Supermium starting to work under Windows 2000 in the near future.
Do users of Windows 2000 exist? It looks like just an achievement.

It's the last system that does not require the online activation, but from the user side it's pretty much the same as XP (which nowadays you still can register via US phone). I keep it, because I have software that I'm happy with and paid decent money for back then (translators, games, music software), and then it was supposed to run forever. However, some companies now tell you they want you to pay anew and yearly for pretty much the same set of features. Or if you re-install the system, they would not let you activate your "older" version - because it's "not supported", and you have to pay $$$ again for the same thing.
However, I have to admit, there is no decent antivirus software below XP, so the browser use scope would be limited to, say, Github, WSJ and corporate mail which is filtered anyway. BTW, just remembered they allegedly still have NT 4.0 in NYC subway and W3.1 at Southwest Airlines, so they were unharmed by recent Crowdstrike outage. I think the 2000 Server is still in use somewhere, I have come across that while looking for something.

Suppose that your job is being a translator, and you have a nice expensive translator software with a decent set of translation memory bases that you yourself have worked out in 20 years for your paying customers (interestingly, but they have a certain multi-stage Jira-approved ways they speak about their product in public, and you can not derive from that), but the software manufacturer now tells you that if you have a hard disk upgrade, there is no way you can receive a new registration code for your version, because it's "not supported".

Normally they should give you a new version. It is weird if you can buy only some version.
Also, you don't need an antivirus for just browsing web (no downloading).

Describe the bug I tried to install extensions/themes, it resulted: (Could not install package: 'COULD_NOT_GET_TEMP_DIRECTORY') I also got a message: (Warning: your Supermium settings are stored on a network drive. This may result in slowdowns, crashes or even loss of data).
To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:
Expected behavior On first run, the Supermium settings are stored on a network drive message should not show up. And extensions/themes should install normally.
