Do you mean that the program won't even start? Because there was an known bug in Java with Windows 10 when trying to open a file using the file open dialog. https://bugs.openjdk.java.net/browse/JDK-8180379

Should be fixed with Java 1.8.152 or later.

What version of Java are you using? (Open command terminal and run java -version)
