This would be great; I have local files that my users would like to see - but I 
want
them to be able to retain their own copies; but they aren't generated by my 
maps,
they're native KML.  Please add this.

Hi ebacherdom, lndwhr,

This is left up to developers. All you need to do is create a web application 
that
accepts file uploads and exposes the uploaded files via a public URL. Then, 
just load
that URL using the Earth API and it should work.

Closing this feature request out since it's intentionally left up to developers.
