Ability to sync with My Maps on maps.google.com #86

It would be very nice if when one clicked on a saved marker a window popped
up with the name of the marker and also a comment field to paste more info
websites etc.

I am currently planning a trip in India and this feature would be very
useful for organising my trip as I can quickly be reminded of the points of
interest where ever I am and my notes including telephone numbers etc. In a
sense it would be an offline version of a marker in "My Maps" in google
maps. In fact if GMapCatcher could sync with My Maps that would be even
more useful.

In the mean time I shall just insert comments into the marker text file,
but if it was editable through the gui it would be ace.

I'm sorry for the confusion of raising two issues in one. I think the issue
relating to makers is the same as this one, to which I just posted a possible
solution: https://code.google.com/p/gmapcatcher/issues/detail?id=75

With regards to the ability to sync with google maps, I don't remember what I
originally had in mind, but I think it is already mostly possible by hand. In
"My Places" in google maps one can upload gpx or kml files containing tracks
and waypoints and can download this information to kml. Using gpsbabel and
other tools it is possible to convert the kml files into just gpx tracks, which
can be loaded to and downloaded from gmapcatcher.

The only part that I think is not possible is the ability to import gpx/kml
waypoints to markers or export markers to gpx/kml waypoints. This is probably
not too difficult to script.

I suggest creating a new issue for waypoint/marker conversions and closing this
current issue. Does anyone object?
