COM API is deprecated

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Please provide any additional information below.
Google intends to retire the COM API and instead recommends the use of the 
Javascript API 
(http://googlegeodevelopers.blogspot.com/2010/08/sunset-for-google-earth-com-api
.html). Is it possible for this project to exist without a COM API?

Hi,

Err, not sure what you mean as this project doesn't use the COM API and never 
has done - it has always used the  Javascript API. Also the project is 
independent of any particular COM plug-in version.

On the project description "The library uses a late binding model to the COM 
Google Earth Plugin Type Library (plugin_ax.dll)." Isn't that, perhaps 
indirectly, using the COM API?

No, it is using the Google Earth Plugin Type Library at runtime. It has nothing 
at all to do with the COM Api. See the response in issue 36 for a fuller 
answer.
