While Microsoft officially ended Office 2007 support, Office 2007 is the last version which still uses product key to authenticate the product. For those who uses Linux most of the time, having an old version of Office just for open files for the compatibility sake is quite convenient.

Microsoft Office is useless, LibreOffice is better and allows to read/write files in libreoffice, openoffice and microsoft office format.

Clearly people who use MS Office on Linux through Wine think otherwise and possibly had issues @simbd

Furthermore, pointing people to other software shouldn't be a solution to this issue. That's like coming to a script to run Photoshop and say "lol just use X instead". :)

Office 2007 is way too old. Even though I would also recommend using LibreOffice, sometimes you do need Micro$oft Office. For those instances where you cannot use LibreOfice and must use M$ Office because their documents implement standards in a weird way that LibreOffice doesn't read well, I think it would be good to include at least the Office 2010 or 2013 version. Office 2007 is supported via PlayOnLinux anyways.
