Feature HDD Performance #1809

Open apaeffgen opened 1 year ago

apaeffgen commented 1 year ago

Often i have problems with the hdd usage of 100%. In the original taskmanager it is shown under performance HDD. I would like to see this information in system informer as well, because the computer gets really slugish, when the hdd has 100% usage. I know this is a windows bug, because no precess itself uses up all the power, but only in the performance window this problem manifests directly.

Would be great to get this monitored.

Have you checked Options > Disk Devices?

apaeffgen commented 1 year ago

Hi dmax,

I activated the disks and will check, if they show the same results as the task manager. I keep you updated.

Thanks for the tipp. Best regards Andreas Päffgen

Hi

I added the disk but it does not show the real usage.

Attached is a screenshot of the system information panel of system informer and the task manager. As you can see, the hdd is 100% but it does not show in system informer.

Would be great to see the same information in both programs. Best regards Andreas Päffgen

Attached is a screenshot

I don't think github allow pictures via email. There's no screenshots in your post?

apaeffgen commented 1 year ago

Hallo, If the second attempt does not work, how do you want to receive the image? It is attached with 197KB Best regards Andreas Päffgen

In general it is much better to reply on Github web than replying to notification e-mail.

replace classic HDD with a SSD to solve this issue.

The mouse is showing a hand symbol when you move the cursor over the graphs, try selecting the Disk graph with the mouse 😉

apaeffgen commented 1 year ago

You mean to switch the hardware? This is a virtual machine with a raid. So this does not work for me.

You mean to switch the hardware?

You need to left click those graphs in your screenshot to view detailed information:

Hi demax, At the moment there is no 100% HDD usage. I will check, if the detail view will show the correct results. If so, I close the issue, otherwise I will post a new foto on git.

image The details view and the admin mode do not change the fact, that some of the hdd performance is not shown correctly.

The taskmanager from windows is the only software, afaik, that shows the hdd performance problem correctly. Any further tipps? Btw, all other taskmanager replacements have the same problem.
