Menu may obscure the screen on mobile #140

One of my friends left this feedback, namely that the menu was obscuring the screen.

I tried to replicate it on my phone, but my screen is just blank -- there's no menu or anything at all

@Roscoe Could you write a navbar state handler, so that the mobile hamburger behaviour works nicely?

Or -- since we only have a couple of items -- we could just fit them into even the mobile navbar.
