when a video plays through the flash player, the volume control doesn't actually adjust the volume.

I can confirm this issue as well.

Fixed in the upcoming 3.0. You can test it in the 3.0b1 tag. The problem was in the OVP fork. 3.0 replaces OVP with Strobe.
