The new menu is the exact same width as the old menu if your resolution is less than 1600. If your resolution is wider than 1600, the tool menu will actually be about 100 pixels wider than garry's tool menu. You can also change the width of the new menu in multiple says. You can pull the middle divider left or right, which you can't do in garry's menu. In the latest version of wiremod, I also added a slider to manually set the width of the entire tool panel: although your server might not have this version yet.
To demonstrate, I took two screenshots after changing my resolution to 800x600 (the smallest anyone nowadays still uses)
Here you can see the sound emitter is a little cramped, like yours
And after I simply pull the middle divider to the right, everything is fine:
If I raise my resolution to my native 1920x1080, and set the tool menu width to the default 548 (which is, as I said, about 100 pixels wider than garry's previous default of 460px) there's plenty of space
@Divran but it's also an issue because items are horizontally offset, so it takes up a non-trivial amount of extra space if you want to see all the tool names.
Yes, but as I said, I tried lowering my resolution almost as low as my monitor goes, and I could still see all the tools just fine. I tried this before I even committed the first version of the new menu, to make sure it looked good in a tiny resolution.
@ConnorMcF , post some screenshots so we can see what is going on.
(posting screenshots on github is easy, all you gotta do is press print screen, then ctrl+v in the github text box)
Any way of just turning off the tree so that things don't just keep getting pushed over to the right on every branch? That way, everything is aligned on the same column, and no space to the left is wasted.
If we could at least have the old menu in a toggable option, that would be nice. The current menu is cramped on my monitor. For example sound emitter says 'Sou...' And I use wiremod alot, if the server does not have wiremod I find another
