Flickr photos tagged with more than one species are only being associated with
a single species in ALA. They should be associated with each tagged species in
the photo.
Flickr-EOL photos can include tags for more than one species. EOL have defined
rules for this, (see
http://www.flickr.com/groups/encyclopedia_of_life/discuss/72157629880163919/
and see the FAQ: "What if there is more than one species in the photo?") - ie
multiple tags are provided at only one taxonomic level.
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Select a recent Flickr upload with say a BHL image. For example:
http://biocache.ala.org.au/occurrences/bd21153a-eb5b-47cc-a234-f4a92d1e394b
This image has 8 butterflies. On Flickr it has multiple machine tags covering
all the butterflies. (Some tags represent an old name.)
2. This image is only linked to one species: Paralucia pyrodiscus
What is the expected output?
That Flickr photo to be linked to all eight species that are tagged in the
photo.
What do you see instead?
The photo is only linked to one butterfly species on ALA.
Please provide any additional information below.
Images that, for example, show species interactions will contain multiple taxa.
ALA should be able to show that image
