Also noted that the same issue applies to
Tools | Scatterplot
Tools | Scatterplot list
Tools | Prediction
Tools | GDM
I also wondered why, after file name request and import, we have a new prompt
called
"Restrict mapped species to an area" with the usual area options. This strikes
me as unnecessary as the area has already been defined in step 1.
The imported point are mapped BTW, but you remain stuck on Step 2.

Hi Lee,
I get past step 2 in scatter plot and points to grid. I get a "Unknown error"
on step 3 when I attempt to generate the points to grid (I will look at fixing
this one). Another thing that I have noticed is that every time you press the
"OK" button the points get loaded as a new layer. So I ended up with multiple
layers.
I don't quite understand what the issue is that you would like fixed.
Thanks.
Natasha

I don't think that Points to Grid actually supports the concept of a imported
points. It calls an alalspatial service that relies on looking up values in the
supplied service (either the biocache or sandbox).
I am inclined to remove the "Import points" options from the Points to Grid
dialog.

I'll check with Adam asap but I think you are right as I remember limitations
on some tools when using the current point import. Certainly need to remove
option for now as it is obviously busted, but I'm very keen to see Sandbox
integration asap (#64) as I alone have two projects that require use of
imported points and Points to grid (one is the bee data that Linda was working
on for a blog).

This has been fixed by removing the unsupported "Import points" in the Points
to Grid.
