Autocomplete popup continues to display after executing #1462

when I type git pull and hit enter, the helper menu with the available flags shows up and remains there until the network finishes running the command

Just to provide an additional, simple example, this happens even with basic CLI commands, for example: sleep 2 && echo -n. The autocomplete popup will remain until execution of all commands are complete. I happen to be using iTerm2 as my terminal.

For the most part I would expect that after enter/return is pressed, popups should be suspended until after further keypresses, but that is probably an oversimplification.
