Switch to the MIT license #33

Switches from the GNU General Public License 2.0 (GPL-2.0) to the MIT license.

This PR changes the license text in LICENSE.md and updates the comment headers for both the library header and library source. Closes issue #30.

The comment header formatting is a matter of taste, so let me know if you'd like me to make any changes :smiley:
