First Runs on Win7 -- crashes and irritations #3

Problem:
The first few runs of ABox under Win7 (and possibly earlier) crash. After 
launching a few times, something inside Win7 fixes itself. All subsequent runs 
work fine. 

Recommend:
*Little else is known about this problem. 
*Determining how to duplicate it may be necessary -- perhaps via repeated 
backing up to 'restore points'. 
*It may be the case that ABox is inadvertantly relying on older Windows .dll 
behavior. These should be identified and 'cleanly' fixed in the source code -- 
preferably WITHOUT having to identify particular .dll versions.
