New IPR values / boilerplate? #5

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Set attribute ipr="trust200902" to the rfc element
2. Menu XML2RFC -> Text preview using xml.resource.org

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I expect the converted text with the new boilerplate. Instead, I get an
error message: "xml2rfc: error: ipr="trust200902" attribute unknown in
#1:<rfc> around input line 24"

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
XMLmind 4.3.0_01 personal (on Windows Vista)
xml2rfc xxe plugin from SVN

Please provide any additional information below.
The new boilerplate and new attributes are available from
http://xml.resource.org/experimental.html . It would be nice that this
xml2rfc tool can be used from XMLmind directly. I was not able to install a
local copy of xml2rfc in windows (ActiveTcl works perfectly but then I
don't know what to do...)

Thank you!

I just saw while browsing the code that the DTD is updated in the source... It
seems
that installing the add-on from XMLmind (URL:
http://xml2rfc-xxe.googlecode.com/svn/release/xml2rfc.xxe_addon ) did not give
me the
latest version...

I have looked further and the problem is probably in
http://code.google.com/p/xml2rfc-xxe/source/browse/trunk/java/WebForm.java line
107.
It would be nice if the URL was configurable, so that one could use
cgi-bin/xml2rfc-dev.cgi instead of cgi-bin/xml2rfc.cgi . Just an idea for a
future
version...

It is configurable; the help gives you an example of how to configure it to
xml2rfc-dev.cgi. See the help section
called "Configuring HTTP proxy, web conversion service, custom xsl, etc."

(I really need to get the help into the wiki so I can refer to it online here,
huh)

I will look into releasing a new version with the right DTD so that you can
easily select the right boilerplate.

The help page in question is now online at Google:

http://code.google.com/p/xml2rfc-xxe/wiki/Help__Customization

I've also released 0.7.8 with the updated DTD.
