FIMI X8 no connection #8

Hello

First of all great work! My FIMI X8 worked very fine since about 4 weeks. In the morning i flew very well but in the afternoon i got no connection between Remote Controller and Drone. I think the drone is starting correctly, but the RC Power Button is always blinking red. I tried to repair according to instructions but the loud beep sound is missing.

Could i save my FIMI with up- or downgrading?

I must say, I read your instructions for hours but I think I do not get it. xD

Hi there, You would probably be able to save it, But it could also be a hardware error in which case its not going to change anything. To help guess what is wrong would you care to give more info? Does the remote control charge at all? what happens when it is plugged in? Anyways the flashing process isnt that hard when the firmware has been compiled by the software, the hard part is using Java commandline (took me some time to figure out) So ill attach my firmware file i compiled that has everything there newest version except the camera and gimbal (you probably dont need that ) All you have to do is copy the BIN file i include onto the SD card INSIDE the fimi drone, then connect the phone with app launched and controller powered up and then power up the drone when its been completely copied. IT should start blinking after about a minute or two and go wild (make sure props are taken off )!!!! From the process it should reflash controller, Let me know if this helps, im guessing wladimir is busy right now so ill help as much as i can! Cheers and goodluck!

hi @PikoMeter , i am having the same problem as @hurtig9000 . I tried it but it don't work, the red light is still flashing and the phone is not connected. Can you sent me another BIN file with downgrade firmware update? and also the Bin file for the latest firmware include camera and gimbal? who knows if it works? thank you and i am very sorry to trouble you.

Hi there @oneyesoneno I could upload another bin i made with just camera gimbal and rc, rc relay fc fc relay. This would be the newest firmware. I cannot get the software to recognise older firmware as it is not a FILE filetype but is bin##### filetype. The json chooses to ignore them and redownload the newest firmware. ( if anyone can help me figure out how to trick it into using old firmware pls help :) ) Either way try to flash the new camera firmware first. Our fimi seems to not have a software issue as its acting crazy even though IMU is normal. Yesterday we flew it and it just kept going up to 120 meters. even with full down throttle. Im starting to doubt FIMI being a good make as customer service is wiping their a** on my requests for help.

Either way let me know if it works/flashes. IT should flash the camera gimbal etc first and after about 10 minutes start with the fc/rc fc/rc relay. Hi @PikoMeter , sorry for the late reply. I just test it out few hours ago. It does took long time to finish the firmware's update. And the result is still the same, the RC is still blinking in red. I posted my problem in youtube as well https://youtu.be/KnYzyf1N_IQ . I am very sad... and clueless :(

Sorry guys for replying that late. @PikoMeter thanks for helping out. For me, it sound like a hardware issue (maybe the antenna inside the drone got loose?) Also, you could try to re-pair the RC by pressing the ON-Button for 15 seconds while the drone is on.

Hello all, seems that my push on the pairing button does not work at all. It stays red clicking with no sound. Also, when connecting the phone, I can see the Drone cam but nothing else. I see that all of you have solutions for these things... Would you be so kind and help me with it ? Thanks a zillion for your help ;-) Julien

I can't comment it yet but i ordered a new RC platine. I'm looking forward to change it and hope it's working. I think in a few days i can tell you more about it.

I will be really appreciated if you will share your experience with new RC.

In the meanwhile I found that there are TX/RX contact points on the RC PCB, I want to solder wires there and check is there anything that will help to revive my remote.

It seems that this issue is caused by a bug in firmware, so I'm looking for a way to flash new firmware without working drone connection.

I'm sorry for late reply.

Ok i got the new platine and finally i got the Connection between RC and Drone himself. Semms that this works. BUT, i think only in my case, there was another problem because since then i haven't a Connection between RC and Smartphone. (That Problem was not with the original platine)

Now i ordered a new platine. After I've tested the new platine, I'll give you a new feedback.

@PikoMeter Hey thanks a lot for the BIN files. I did everything as you explained - firstly refreshed the drone with the 1st BIN file and then refreshed the rest with the 2nd BIN file. It seems to work now. I just need to tests it outside.....FYI, before I could not connect to the drone, cam was off etc. There is a new FIMI NAVI 2020 app. This app does not connect the cam. I guess your BIN files work only on the original app. As I switched to the original app, it all got settled...well I hope no other surprises are going to happen outside.

Hey guys. In my case it was the Platine oft the RC. Now it works fine.

Hello guys, I have Fimi x8 SE (2019)

I have it around a year ,so far I have done no more than 20 flights,

but the last few drone was struggling to pair to Remote control.

And now it won't pair at all. I just turn on the drone,

wait till the green and red lights will be solid and white blinking,

than turn on the RC but it keep blinking with red power button forever.

As well I have tried to repair drone and RC ( long press on RC power button till rapid beeping sound and press link button on the drone, no luck. White light on the drone goes off RC keep beeping but no communication. Maybe somebody solved similar problem? Any ideas?

upd1: I have updated drone with firmware with attached to this thread, no luck as well. upd2: RC connecting to the phone, I can calibrate sticks and see remote control firmware version.

Hi there @oneyesoneno I could upload another bin i made with just camera gimbal and rc, rc relay fc fc relay. This would be the newest firmware. I cannot get the software to recognise older firmware as it is not a FILE filetype but is bin##### filetype. The json chooses to ignore them and redownload the newest firmware. ( if anyone can help me figure out how to trick it into using old firmware pls help :) ) Either way try to flash the new camera firmware first. Hi PikoMeter, sorry for disturbing you. But maybe you can try to help me with my issue by creating and flashable firmware compatible with RC 1019C RC relay 1019B. It just look like my drone updated to the new version and RC for some reason doesn't.

On gearbest the rc is about 130$

@wladimir-computin you are Rus? Can you help me? I have lost connection between drone and rc after 6 monts i dont use drone. I unpack it and it is on "not pairing" status. I found your tread. Try to flash drone. Write to sd-card fr_firmware. Start drone. Wait 30 min. But now it dosnt see sd card. And not pairing...
