New windows occasionally get displayed behind already open windows. 

I have noticed this with context menus (particularly in Firefox), and save-as 
dialogue menus (when in fullscreen).

In the case of menus, switching away from the view then switching back fixes 
the problem, and when the parent is redrawn the child window is placed above 
it.
