Is it possible to create mixed WiFi networks? #149

Hi. My name is Fabián Frommel and I am doing my master's thesis on the new IEEE 802.11ax WiFi standard.

First of all I wanted to thank you for the tremendous contribution you made in developing this network simulator. I installed it and performed some test runs.

I wanted to ask you if it is possible to build a simulation where there are IEEE 802.11ax stations together with stations from previous versions of the standard. I am particularly interested in performing a performance test in these cases.

Thank you very much in advance. Regards,

Fabián.

Dear Fabián (@ffrommel ), thank you for your kind words and for showing interest in Komondor, we are very glad that you are using it. Regarding your question, you can perform mixed tests when considering channel bonding or spatial reuse, which are the 11ax features that have been implemented so far and which can be enabled and disabled on a per-STA basis. In case you would like to simulate legacy STAs using headers' lengths, data rates, and so on, I am afraid we didn't implement such a distinction yet. But this is something in which someone could work and nicely contribute to this project. I hope I helped with my answer. Best, Francesc.
