update to new build. #43

Not an issue but a question. Is it possible to update an existing installation to a new build? If not is there a way to install and keep the existing backups? Thank you for any reply's and your work building this.

Updating didn't touch existing configuration or backups, you can always install the newest packages. On major updates, e.g. from 2.x to 3.x, there is a tool pbs2to3 to check if you have to modify some things.

How would you perform the update?

When you install the packages built with the script or downloaded from the release page, only the corresponding files are updated, not the whole system or the whole disc.
